10 years in the making

Today is an anniversary of sorts. I didn’t even realize it was coming up until a couple of months ago, and it really surprised me. But I do consider it a proud accomplishment.

Today marks 10 years since I started blogging!

At the time, I didn’t know it was blogging. I had an “online journal” aka Xanga site (yah, you late-80s kids know what I’m talking about!) Who would’ve known I was actually a blogger at only 17? It’s crazy to think that blog is still out there, for all the world to see.

(And FYI, my screen name, CHRISTisnotaFashion, refers to a Norma Jean song. Yah, that was me in high school.)

I have several years of my life chronicled in that blog and a few other “journals” that I started over the following years. It’s strange to go back and see my thoughts laid out from that time. So many things have changed since then. Let’s be honest, my writing was pretty rough at the time. This was my actual first post:

I never could have imagined that blogging would become such an important part of my life, all these years later. I am amazed to see how far I have come. 10 years can really seem like a lifetime. But it makes me realize that I am doing what I’m meant to be doing. Even a decade ago, before blogging became what it is today, this was already a part of me. I’m looking forward to looking back in another 10 years and seeing how much things have changed again.

Sit down, stay a while. I'd love to hear from you.
